Draining Gas Tank

is there a screw on the bottom of the tank to drain the gas out??

I know FC have one, its quite obvious under there, its a bolt

we drained the gas out of my old FD's gas tank when i first got it. so im assuming there is

i saw it. i was high from the gas fumes while changing the fuel filter and i wasnt sure if that was what i thought it was. :dumb:

along these same lines, do you really have to remove the gas tank to replace the low pressure side filter? this is the one that is before the fuel pump. the fsm says to take the tank out but im praying that you can get to it through the hatch by taking off the plate where the electrical connection for the pump is.

why didnt mazda place the FD fuel filter like toyota placed it on the MKIVs???

why any company puts filters on the firewall is beyond me

they coulda put it in a better location though... atleast it's not like a chevy pickup where you have to drop the tank to change the filter or pump.
