j9fd3s 05-18-2005 06:59 PM

theres a 14mm bolt on the bottom of the tank

Dumbrotorkid 05-18-2005 08:15 PM

i saw it. i was high from the gas fumes while changing the fuel filter and i wasnt sure if that was what i thought it was. :dumb:

along these same lines, do you really have to remove the gas tank to replace the low pressure side filter? this is the one that is before the fuel pump. the fsm says to take the tank out but im praying that you can get to it through the hatch by taking off the plate where the electrical connection for the pump is.

why didnt mazda place the FD fuel filter like toyota placed it on the MKIVs???

Rob x-7 05-19-2005 08:26 PM

why any company puts filters on the firewall is beyond me

under the car is so much easier

GreyGT-C 05-19-2005 08:32 PM

they coulda put it in a better location though... atleast it's not like a chevy pickup where you have to drop the tank to change the filter or pump.

Shane.Trammell 05-19-2005 10:13 PM

so you dont have to drop the tank to change the pump?
