I THINK my cat. is clogged, for some reason my exahust "note" is alot more quite than it was last week, i know something like that takes time to happen, but yeah.. my car feels like its losing alot of power. So my question here is, would getting the cat replaced with new piping and an aftermarket muffler count as a midpipe? i already have a downpipe, and a greddy sp exhaust, and im still on stock ecu, i also have an intake. i have a friend that owns a muffler shop that can hook me up with like a magnaflow muffler and piping really cheap.. so i was wondering if it was safe to do that before getting an ecu? im saving up for a power fc, which prolly wont happen till another month or two. but i wanna fix this problem right now... power loss sucks

adding a muffler in place of the cat is still kinda a midpipe, it won't restrict as much as a cat. Can I ask why even bother? just save up, get the power fc and then get a midpipe

A brick inside the car probably broke and lodged itself in the exhaust path. If you put that midpipe on with stock ecu you are going to blow up. With the intake, downpipe, and catback you are probably already running lean. Upgrade your ecu with something like a power fc before you do anything else.

does the exhaust have a bad stench to it? and i think the cat would be running even hotte rthen usual if it's clogged so you might check that as well, dont want to pay for a misdiagnosis ya know?

and yea i think an upgraded computer would be better to get first. i mean you can say "i dont want the power loss" and throw a midpipe in there but what if your engine blows up? then you go from power loss, to absolutely none at all. I think we know the wise decision here.

I have that midpipe and it flows a lot more air than you're giving it credit for. Buy the PFC or something similar.
