my tranny has a brace on it already and joe should be making my diff brace as i type this.

the diff brace is the only real way to avoid diff case and PPF breakage.

So the RE wasn't a clutch-type? I think a Kaaz is all disks, no spider gears to break like stock.
I thought all automotive diffs had gears, even the torsen has gears they're just worm gears. The clutch type diffs use the clutches to increase the friction but there are still spider gears present just like a normal diff, just clutches used to increase the resistance of the differential.

at least thats my understanding of it, I'd be surprised if there was a such thing as a gearless diff, in the RC car world the only gearless diff we have is a ball diff, and that wouldnt hold up to the torture in 1:1 scale vehicles. Do you have any diagrams of this Kaaz diff that is all disks? If it's all disks how on earth would it behave like a differential and not just a slipper clutch which would be siimilar to a solid axle with some damping, that would be wierd.

yeah, see, spider gears the clutches just go between the spider gear housing and the rest of the diff, it's still a normal diff just clutches there to resist the differential, it has to overcome the friction of the clutches for the wheels to rotate at varying rates... unlike the non-lsd where theres nothing explicitly put there for the purposes of resistance.

thanks for the image vosko
