as someone of you guys know I just picked up a FD. I'm looking to update the cooling system. the car came with a 4 inch FMIC thats mounted in front of the stock radiator.

The motor tired and Im going to be pulling it out this weekend. I plan on removing the IC and rad and remounting them in a better location.



The engine bay will get cleaned up and rust removed and repainted



Im looking for a cross flow radiator to replace the stock one. is the stock fans good enough? or is there better ones to get.



being that Im in Okinawa Im very worried about heat. the car does not have a/c installed or a heater core. the 1st owner removed them.

 

I am in the midst of developing a triple pass radiator to be used with a FMIC. The radiator will be identical to the stock so fitment will be the same, aside from being triple (versus single pass) and equal height upper endtank. Rather than usisng a universal cross flow or similar which would require coolant line in and out modifications and custom fitted brackets.



As for the fans, alot of people ask this questions, here is a simple response. What is suppose to do the work of cooling the coolant, the radiator or the fans? I hope you know the answer to that question. If not, its the radiator........ The fans are just there to provide air movement thru the radiator while the vehicle is stationary. If you could keep the vehicle moving at all time there would be no need for the fans.

yup i've seen it where you are moving with the fans on the car actually gets hotter than being at speed with them off

No this is just for a Front mount setup. The Vmount kit is being developed to use a custom twin pass drop in, similar to the OE setup, or the kit will be avialable as an intercooler only package with mounting hardware to reposition the radiator for all those who already have an upgraded radiator.
