[quote name='wildbilly7' date='Aug 31 2005, 10:28 AM']holy crap I checked that link you sent me and some of the symptoms associated with a bad EGR are dead on to what I've been experiencing lately (specifically crappy performance before 3800 rpm...)... so now I know the probable cause...has anyone tried plugging the vacuum line leading to the EGR valve? I'm just wondering if it would effect emissions, as I'm in MASS and failed my last inspection because of emissions.

without an EGr valve you'll fail for NOx, or you *should* fail for NOx.
As for "california only" sometimes a car will be built in expectance of going to cali but instead be ordered from somewhere else and theyll send it out there instead. There supposively is no change in performance (as this is still what goe son today, everytime i change an exhaust i gotta double check to see if its cali only or not...and i live in NJ)
the whole cali only thing bothers me anyway, **** cali.
