I own a '94 FD...and three weeks ago i get this wierd idle problem...the rpm idles between 2300rpm and 2600rpm when in neutral and when the clutch is pressed...but when i start depressing the clutch the rpm starts going back to normal. Well i didn't want to drive it while it was like this, of course. So after three weeks of sitting in the garage i decide to take it to Rotary Power. Well this morning I turned it on after three weeks of not working and a huge dense cloud of white smoke comes out of the exhaust...and after about 30 seconds it clears. I am not really techical when it comes to rotary engines, I understand the basics how they work but I don't have experience. The car is at Rotary power right now and they will start to work on it in a few days. Can someone please explain what could cause the idle problem and what would cause all that white smoke. I would apprechiate any feedback. Thank you.

P.S. When I bought the car I took it to the Mazda service and they sead that I need a new EGR valve and that my intake mainfild gasket is leaking.

P.S. Once the car is back from Rotary Power i will make a post of my experience with them.

And sorry for my english...it's my second language

If the intake manifold is leaking, that can cause your idle problems.

If the weather is cold where you live, it could just be condensation in the exhaust from sitting that caused the white smoke. Or you could have a coolant seal going bad

Well I currently live in Los Angeles so its not really cold. I just got a little worried when i saw all that white smoke...

But if I have a coolant leak what kind of repair am I looking at?

I wouldnt sweat the smoke. 3 weeks of sitting and sometimes it would do more then that, consider yourself lucky and fine...

On the idle is it still doing it? Any mods? The idle just did it out of the blue, or did you run it hard? Put regular gas in it hehe?
