When I start up my FD(touring ´94 with no mods) it runs ok but warning lights for the water and oil do not come off. When I turn it off and remove the key the parking lights stay on as well as the dashboard lights. The only way for me to get rid of the lights is to remove one of the battery terminals.

Has anyone seen this before?

You might have a break in the wiring harness somewhere.. When my car had some front end damage it messed up the harness and my horn would start blaring and wouldnt stop until i pulled the fuse. Electrical problems are a PIA. Pull the fuse for the parking lights that will help you determine which part of the harness is getting crossed over, and check the switch for the parking lights also. Ground out the GRN and TEN terminal in the diagnostic box and check for codes, and obviously check your water level and oil level just in case the problems are just coincidence

I have been looking at this a bit..... unplugged the factory alarm. this took care of the parking ligths..........but the warning ligths for oil and water persist.

one other thing is that the car is not charging. so I figured this is somhow connected. but have not had time to look at the electric diagrams. but thanks for the suggestions.

i would imagine if it's not charging it's probably the alternator. unless somehow the big wire that connects to the alternator is disconnected. Did you check the water temp connections at the engine? As well as the different connections for oil.. i believe there is one for oil temp, oil level and oil pressure.

an update.

the alternator is charging.

warning light for low water on.

warning light for oil something on (the little read light in the oil pressure meter).

charging light is on

airpump kicks in and out.

was looking at this last nigth and was sort of thinking it could be a sticking relay............... gave the main relay a tap and everything popped back to normal.

I relly dont have a clue what it was but the car is ok now

oh well
