way to kill the enviornment !!!!! ha ha ha seriously though, I've been trying to figure a way to keep that from killing the paint

Il RX8 lI 03-06-2005 05:01 PM

I've seen metal plates put over that area for that reason.

amp 03-06-2005 05:53 PM

great concentration of wax is placed on there when she gets coated....

this fd will never ever see a plate on there...

btw.. the buildup cant be just wiped off.. requires a degreaser...

shes runnin fairly rich considerin shes set for 12psi the entire trip...

Rob x-7 03-06-2005 06:15 PM

For a long trip I wonder if the old drag racers trick of putting wax and leaving it on there would help? Then wipe it off when you get home or where you got to go, re-applying it when you leave again.

or if angle cut tips would help

I use a 1/4 degreaser and 3/4 water in s little spray bottle and then it wipes off clean. Above my exhaust looks just as good as the rest of the white paint after it is cleaned. Too bad it doesn't last...

amp 03-07-2005 04:20 PM

s100 wax works very well....

what is used on my bike...

GreyGT-C 03-07-2005 04:28 PM

i always used "grease Lighting" degreaser spray to clean it off of my former silver FD...

Il RX8 lI 03-07-2005 05:20 PM

I was just saying what I've seen done, of course. It's your prerogative to do what's best for what you want. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

that shits strong, i dont think its too safe to use on a urethane bumper (fd bumpers are urethane right?) especially not when youre trying to keep the paint perfect, like jio is.

Suppose this stuff would work well?

Makes it easy to get burnout rubber off your fenders I guess?

j9fd3s 03-08-2005 02:47 PM

put the cat back on?

tampaFD 03-13-2005 10:54 PM

i have the N1 and i have noticed a large difference in build up on the bumper if i have the resonator in or not. theory is that at idle the exhaust has a much faster muzzle velocity than without so it does not deposit on the bumper as much... gonna try the wax thing i have a silver car and it suks

never discolored the back of mine.... spray it on a rag, wipe the bumper a few times... then wash off with water. Always worked fine for me
