Boost/PFC/mixture problem
#1
Here's the deal. I was driving my FD yesterday, first time in a couple of months. For the first hour or so of the drive, everything was fine. After shutting the car off and restarting it, it died. It would stay running, with a hopping "idle" if i kept my toe into the gas pedal. Taking my foot off the gas caused it to sputter and die. I decide to limp the car home the 10 or so highway miles, and notice on my PFC commander, no matter what the engine or boost gauge is doing, the PFC is reading -40 on the boost pressure. So, keeping the car near 0 on the boost gauge resulted in the car running fine. Cruising in vacuum meant sputtering, engine surging, and backfires. I didnt boost it, since I was only metering about ambient's worth of air.
1st. Where would I start to look for problems? Anyone know what wires, specifically, carry the boost sensor signal into the PFC?
2nd. Its not a boost leak. The PFC reads anywhere from -43 to -40 mani pressure, despite what the engine or turbos are doing.
3rd. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
What eats my *** with a spoon was it was running fine before shutting it off.
