The motor blew today. I had the car out last on Sunday. Was running about 18 psi on sunoco 100 octane and it was running great. Today it was decent out so I took the car out and washed it. I decided to drive it to the gym. I got on the highway, and just cruised. I gave it a little gas, and thought I felt a slight hesistation. I thought my plugs might have fowled out again. I had the radio playing softly but didn't hear any abnormal noises. Then I went to pass another car and just lost power. I pulled off the highway, and the car didn't even want to idle. I had to keep giving it gas too keep it from dying. I was barley able to limp it about a mile home, making alot of smoke in the process. I pulled out the plugs on each rotor one at a time and cranked it with the egi relay out. Rear rotor made 3 strong wooshes. The front rotor just sounds like it is flooded. Doesn't seam to have any compression. There was also alot of oil in the intake tract. When I opened the throttles plates with my hand alot of oil came out. I fear that the turbo was damaged as well. What I don't understand is what went wrong. The car was warmed up, at abound 80-82 degrees C (doesn't get much warmer in this weather unless I drive really hard) I was on the low boost setting. The peak hold on the power fc read about .65, which is like 9 psi I believe. Intake air temps were in the mid teens Celcius. I still had 1/2 a tank of sunoco 100 octane. The only weird thing I noticed was a very faint buzzing sound comming from somewhere under the intake manifold when I had the car off but the key in after it blew. I'm confused, because I didn't do anything wrong. If it blew under high boost than that would be one thing, but what the heck? Maybe a fuel injector got stuck? Peak hold duty cycle on the pfc was 50%. Any ideas? I'm going to try and have the motor warrantied by KDR. Its less than 8 months old.
