truth is they all have problems, they all blow engines. Stock the r1 is better due to the stiffer suspention, and dual oil coolers. If you are going to mod the car then it does'nt matter anyway
i got the car i wanted! [/quote]

screw you! you don't even like your car(s),,, DAMN YOU

95 R2 is what you want.

Good luck finding one.

Is there really that much difference in weight between the different models and years?

Well im deciding on a mkiv supra or a 3rd gen 7. Personally i don't think a 7 could cost nearly as much as a stock MKiv TT supra which is why i like the the 3rd gen 7's

Anyway thanks for all the input ill keep my eyes open for one

lol don't let money be the only issue.

For a long long time I was saving/waiting for MKIV Supra.

Yes, the FD did catch my attention because of the $$$ issue, but the car needs devotion, love, affection.....affection?

No, but seriously, learn about these cars and read as much as you can before you take a dive...but it will be well worth it.

The way I see it:

MKIV Supra= $20k (If that) for the cheapest one worth buying (That would mean a 90-120k mile 6-speed). And it will probably be half-bpu and need small cosmetics. 320hp in a 3400lbs body.

FD=$7-8k Blown + $5-7k rebuild is $14-16k. Or buy one with rebuilt motor at similiar pricing. Either way, you are paying $5-6k less (and you could find $10-12k FDs too!) and have much less miles on your engine, and could easily boost yourself to 320hp but this time in a much lighter car.

They all rock. Seriously.
I'm not sure I would include the automatics in that.

If I remember correctly there is absolutely no difference between 94 and 95 year cars. Get whatever year you happen to find, a good condition 93 is better than an abused 94/95 right? The 93's are old enough that the owners have worked out whatever bugs they had that were not in the 94/95 year cars. As for R1/R2 vs. touring vs. base, the touring will have a sunroof. If you are like me that means you wont fit in it. Base I dont like the seat material, but that is personal preference. Other than that, if you are going to mod it doesnt matter what package you get.
