nothing is wrong with the HKS downpipe , and i have been in another rx-7 with a a m2 downpipe so there dick. and i cannot tell a difference we both have the same mods but hs is running m2 stuff. And you said you could prove that the HKS is restrictive. so besides your "i can fell the difference" bull **** i want prof. unless there is like a 6 horsepower difference in the pipes you would not be able to fell it anyway.
calm down there sport.

rxotic and i CAN PROVE the hks pipe is restrictive. i pulled mine off and put a pettit pipe on it, and immediately cranked the car up and the stream of exhaust was AT LEAST a foot long stronger out of the rear section of the car. do not get so defensive about a certain part, you did not make it, so it is not your fault.

i tell you what, go get a caliper and measure the total interior clearance of the HKS pipe and then compare it to another pipe that IS NOT SHAPED LIKE THE STOCK PRECAT, AND I GUARANTEE THAT THERE IS A DIFFERENCE, BUT DO NOT EXPECT ME TO DO THE LEG WORK FOR YA. I ALREADY DID IT. and now i use the DP MP and CB from TOPSPEED. i have found that it is MY favorite of the exhausts that i have tried, (for $ and qualtiy) and they are a few, as i have had a long time to play with them B/T my 2 fd's.

of and for the HP difference, there was a 5 HP difference when measured in NC........

Apex exhausts sound like crap in my opinion. I had one, sounded like a motorboat.

another 14yr old......WOW....i had no idea that suce young people cared about a 10 yr old car. kinda cool though....

NEway, i had the greddy sp on my car, but again, i would like to stress, that MOST* 3" catback exhausts are a straight through muffler design. you can see them for yourself....just go for one that has fewer bends and is mandrel bent and is the style that you like......

It's preferable that the piping does not shrink down, right? Yes, I care for a 10 yr old car. I also like 1960s muscle cars and Corvettes from the same era.
