Y around the tank? That's a bit impossible since the stock fuel tank is shifted all the way to the driver's side.

My FD3s Exhaust setup:

-Apex N1 dual exhaust

-HKS downpipe

-Smaller stock main cat

For several months I ran just the Apex N1 Dual cat-back exhaust, it had a GREAT sound and was reasonably quiet. A few months ago I put the HKS downpipe on and really improved on the exhaust note, not to mention some extra RWHP. With the DP and the dual cat-back the car is noticeably louder (but not too loud) and has a sinister exhaust sound. The addition of the downpipe gave the car a much more deep, badass sounding tone. Another bonus of the downpine is a much louder, cleaner sounding turbo spool-up. In fact, I haven’t listened to the radio in months, because I would rather hear the awesome sound of the engine and turbo’s!

This setup is no where, I mean no where, as loud as my 1972 Chevelle was with 4” open headers. My old 350 V8 with no exhaust was 2 to 3 times louder than my current setup on Rx-7.

The new exhaust is noticeably louder, but I haven’t been pulled over by the cops, which is promising considering how strict they are around here about noise violations. I have a feeling that the car is just under the legal dbl limit!
