the oil pan is pretty exposed, being rearward of the front underbelly tray. Some of the noise you hear is probably from the undercarriage hitting the hard snow, not necessarily any of the driveline/exhaust. For the most part, everything's pretty well tucked up underneath the car, unless you have a large canister style exhaust. I would think the most damage prone parts would be a canister and possibly the underbelly tray.

Im sure yours run the same as ours, that might be something to check, but then again you would know if you sprung a leak.

Yep...the exhaust is probably the lowest part of the car. My mid-muffler had dents all over the bottom.

 

You might consider checking your fuel lines. They run under that flimsy black plastic shroud with the little loovers cut into it. They would bend and damage easily and they are on the bottom running along the floor board. I think a big piece of ice could damage it pretty easy

ohh yeah i also carried almost a complete engine in my car for almost a whole day cause i was lazy to take it out yesterday afternoon. everything minus, eccentric and flywheel plus 2 engine mounts for FC.



rotors on passenger floor, rotor housings on passenger seat. irons, front cover and mounts in "trunk".

 

did you buy a FD or an El Camino?
