what's everyone's battery voltage when they try to crank their car? Mine is 12.5 or so, but dips to around 8 volts when i am trying to crank it, some times even down to 7. Is this normal?

boy, your making me remember high school

a fully charged battery is between 12.4 and 12.7volts

it should be charging at 13.5-14.5

when cranking it should be over 7volts, cranking by far is the biggest load on the battery

7 is low, should'nt ever dip under 9, sounds like it's time for a new battery, or the starter/cables have a lot of resistnce somewhere(corroded terminal, old starter), and it's sucking waaay more than it should to compensate
