I have a bunch of question on a auto the 5spd conversion. My auto quit this week and I had lot of help from all you guys. I located pretty much everything I need to get the job done but I have a list of question for anyone who personally did this job. Here we go>

By the way I have a 1993

Do I need the entire engine harness?or just the 5spd harness

Will I need to pull the motor? Someone told me this I didn't understand why?

I plan on changing the guages will I need to pull the entire dash and harness out?

Do I need to change the rear end ?

Will the starter bolt up with no modifications? Some one told me about making a bracket I plan on getting a 5spd starter if thats the case.

Is there anything at all that needs modified or is it just all bolt on?

This looks like a major job but it doens't look hard at all I converted other cars but they were Fiero's and they were easy but alot of labor.

Is there anything all all that I should know before I buy the parts and does anyone have a master list of what I need.

If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it. I hate the auto and it's time to change it over.

Thank to everyone that help in my prior post I found most all part by using car-parts.com Thanks RON

You need a 5 speed starter and engione wiring harness. I assume you already have the flywheel, counterweight, trans, drive shaft, peddal assembly, shifter, center counsel, instument cluster. The autos had 3.90 gearing in the rear, so it will accelertate slower unless you switch to the 4.10. I have a starter, flywheel, and driveshaft for sale if you need them. Also have the center councel trim.

No you dont have to pull the engine. I have not bought the gauge cluster

yet, so I cant help you on that. I plan to use my old one, of course the spedo will be off and the rpm gauge is diffrent. You will also need clutch,

clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, and line. The cylinders should be

bought new. I get all my new parts from www.mazdaformance.com Yes you have to get the manual starter. If you are gonna use the auto rear end, you

still have to get the companion flange off the manual box. I recommend using the 4.10 gears though. I'll be able to give a little more insight on the

job, once I get mine back together. Good luck!
