You HAVE to get the car tuned or else you are risking blowing it up. Rotaries are more sensitive yes but any car that has stand alone managment risks being damaged if not tuned. If you bought the unit new you are supposed to let it idle for 15 minuts so the computer can learn your car. Once it has idled you can then drive it to be tuned. Th base map is ONLY for light driving and should not be used with your mods at all.
