what was the cause of your engine failure...or is your rebuilding a preemptive measure?

amp's pic interests me, how the f would this happen? bad oil pressure? amp did you drive this engine hard? mileage?

weekend road course car from previous owner ...

ive only racked up a bit above 3k miles on her since purchase...

3k of which came from the 54hr trip from los angeles to jersey...

so the assumption from the responses indicates that this sg is toast...

well since your response to my question was that it was not an engine failure i guess everything was running fine in spite of the wear visible on the gear. maybe it's just normal wear associated with some high rpm running and not a sign of a future failure(??).



i was just so surprised when my motor blew with the vibration/shaking that it made it hard to believe it was just seals, but that seems to be the consensus.
