I'm still waiting to see results. Don't most people only install MSD ignitions on the leading plugs anyway? It seems logical.. I'd just hope that with this mod people are beefing up the 2 plugs to get optimal burn.. It makes sense, just baffles me that until now, it wasn't very highly discussed. Oh well. I'll be patient. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

if skip charged $400 for the plugs and gave you free tunning then i could see paying for that. but that is insane to pay for two bolts. even a $100 is crazy.

so besides the insults....what are some technical thoughts on the whole issue? There are some knowledgable peeps here on this forums...lets hear it. j the pros: it removes a potential hot spot, ie the spark plug it also eliminates the split timing tuning variable the cons: you cant break the laws of physics, they work by lowering cylinder pressure by not burning completely/making as much power/lowering charge temps will it pass smog? granted its easy to put the trailings back on due to the leading plugs being on the same circuit, if you get into a potential flooding situation, you're screwed. in the stock system if one leading plug fouls neither fire, but if it starts on the trailings it will usually clear up. with the plugs you have no trailings, and you're screwed the fact that BATMAN is endorsing it means that theres no chance of technical merit, he's the guy with the tornado air! we tried to get him to dyno it back to back with and without it and he wouldnt do it! he has NO dyno sheets, wont race anyone who can verify how fast his car is, or even let people ride in it. and @$450 the markup is so huge it makes a former mazda parts manager blush! i'd be charging $49.99 or maybe $79.99, thats still a 1000% markup, those bolts cost $5 each TOPS. |
