You're dyno is way off, take 100rwhp off..

If you don't believe me go see what the car runs at the track, that much power should be a very low 11...

For (only) 7 psi, that seems pretty high to me too....no matter what porting, intake or exhaust mods you have. Either the dyno or a boost gauge issue.

Mate I don't really take to being called a liar, so here goes the link to the article on my car.

Visit My Website http://www.performancecar.co.nz/articles/1...-r-sushi-slayer

369hp @ rear wheels on 8lbs of boost. READ IT AND WEEP.

If you don't believe it call around and I will take you for a spin.

Nice looking car but hate to say I am a little skeptical as well as the other folks. Have you ever taken the car to a shop & watched them dyno it? You may have been TOLD the car makes that much HP but in reality, it really doesn`t. If I were you, I would want to see the numbers from a dyno, myself.

From the article:

"Performance: Dyno Power – 369hp @ wheels, 0-400m ( ~1/4 mile ) – 12.1- seconds"

Doing this ( 369 RWHP ) on 8 LBs of boost? The factory system at 10 PSI won`t even give you that much. Factory HP @ 10 is what....around 255 HP ( Can`t remember if that is RWHP or at the flywheel ) ? Add a high flow exhaust & a few other goodies, still wouldn`t do it. Would like to know what kind of porting work they have done to the engine.

Hmmmmmm.

Like I said, Nice looking car.

What a crack-up.

This RX7 is FAR FROM FACTORY....

Japan factory spec models are 280hp @ the flywheel and thats from 1996 onwards.

And if you had a good read of the article you would know it has a mid port.

Furthermore you would also know that it has a GREDDY e-manage ecu.... which IS NOT FACTORY!!!!! And is fully tuneable.

So go back and read the article.

99 spec twins will eat 93 spec twins any day of the week.

Like I said before, I think if it was me, I would take the car to a shop myself & have it run on a dyno & see what numbers came up. Hey! If it will do 369, great! If you do get on a dyno, post the graph on the forum. We would like to see it.

Take care!

Here is a customer of mine with 300rwhp that did a 12.3 on worn street tires on a 95+ degree day...

So he has 1/3 the mods I have and made 300rwhp. Nice.

My mate has just gone single turbo, T72 I believe, Power Fc etc, dynoed at 320rwhp on a conserative tune, so we lined up today after work....

On low boost of 8psi I kicked his a**.

On our 3rd line up I switched it over too high boost (16psi).

I absolutely monstered his 7... until the secondary turbo spat the dummy.

Guess the turbos are up for a rebuild.

I will get it dynoed while it is there and post up the printout.

There are quite a few differences between the 93 and 99 cars. The intercooler piping was different, the turbos had the abraided housing and the turbine flowed more, the 99 had a 16 bit ecu,the intake manifold and rats nest were different among other things.. I have seen some 98+ FD's put down some pretty good numbers with very little mods, like 315 with cat back, boost controller and a fuel pump.

I dunno about 369 at 10 psi sounds high but then again Revolution did 417 rwhp on stock 99 twins running sequential, at 1.2kg/cm3 with a v-mount and god knows how much dyno time, they own the stock turbo class in superlap.

The key to making a stock turbo car fast, is run really high boost at low rpms, and then taper it down with rpm to not choke on the turbine, it makes a really fat big torque curve.
