I wouldn't buy it if they messed with the Odometer man! you'll never know the true mileage of your car or engine! that's probably why it was pretty cheap for being such a rare car cause a 95TT R2(only 500 imported, and it was the last year they came here) are really rare and there value is around 20k. Just look at autotrader.com to find more 3rd gens! And please do that compression test!!!

Some one can correct me if I'm wrong but when the piece is threaded in turn the car over but don't start it . You should be getting three readings. If they are all consistant then youshould be good. But if you are getting something like 7-5-9 that would be bad. Low compression but consistant can be ok like 8-8-8 but idealy you want to get a solid 10psi 10-10-10.

I would check the turbos for oil leakage the rear mail seal for oil leakage as well.Drive the car and see if the clutch slips. Take a cheap autometer boost guage with you and some vacum hose and plug it up on one of the little capped nipples on the manifold and rev up the engine to see what kind of boost your getting. Make sure the vacum is correct. 30lpds I think? (I really never paid much attention to the vacum to know for certain.)

Correct me if I am wrong I said! Ha

If you are not getting 10psi on the boost guage then you should hear a hissing because it most likely will have a vacum leak in the mess of hoses under the manifold. Listen to the airpump for loud crappy running noises. If it's out or on it's last legs then most likley the precat and main cat will be clogged.

Thats a good start anyway.

LOL....Dave, you can't get a 7-5-9 compression. You could get a 7-7-9 or a 7-9-9 etc...two of the numbers have to be the same.

Also, it's not in PSI...that's in KG/CM2...because if your engine is getting 10 psi of COMPRESSION....you've got a BLOWN MOTOR!...I believe that 6 + kg/cm2(which is 84 psi) is considered a "healthy" engine.[/quote]

Now yer thinking Lincoln. Well I never said I was the brightest apple in the bunch. Yer right and I was think more about boost **** sorry that was bad example.

I thank you for the correction. I will remeber to think about what I am saying before giving advice. Hey I think I got the point across though.:POON:

Yhea but only the 93 R1 Strut tower brace was adjustable. Not that it means anything just an interesting piece of trivia.

I would rather blow my 18,000 wad on a modded FD with a new motor and a bunch of goodies. I got a CYM that I've had since 96. Yhea it's rare and all that but I'm more concered about Rims, Big Brakes, Single turbo, Etc... The color / year dosnt make the car go around the corner any faster or help it to kick the crude out of a MKIV. I guess it depends on what you want the car for. I use to be about bling bling now I want to eat some 911 but. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif
