93 RX-7 hood stuck
#1
Hola, newcomer to the boards.
My 93 RX-7's hood is stuck shut, and the plastic latch doesn't make any noise when I pull it. There is some slight tension to the plastic lever but nothing happens, and nothing pops up to get leverage under the hood. I tried opening the lights and pulling from there, but it won't budge.
Any possible way to open the hood, aside from pulling something like the bumper off?
Thanks!

you wont even be able to take the bumper off unless the hood comes up cause its attached to the cross member between the lights, the only thing i can think of would be to pull the latch out from under the dash and pull on the cable with a pair of pliers or something along those lines

The same thing happened to mine when I put it in storage for a while. I think that there is a little plastic piece that snaps really easy if you pull to hard or to many times . Mine is still in storage so I haven't gotten a chance to play with it yet. I'm planning to just cut the hood off and get a CF one and hold it down with some hood pins.
I'm pretty interested to see if there's another way. I would hate to destroy a perfectly good hood.

I'm not positive...but the only thing I can think of off-hand is to drop the belly pan, remove the swaybar at the center mounts and let swing down on the end-links. Then remove the radiator and fan assembly from below to access it. Some work and the cost of a gallon of coolant, but I'm thinking you might be able to access the latch assembly from there.
