Seems like a simple choice between looking pretty/sounding good and going fast. To me most ppl have a hard time making the distinction. If you wanna run X number of pounds of body kit parts and stereo equip., it doesn't seem like you are making a formidable effort to going fast. HP/LBS ratio plays a huge role, a street bike is a good example...

I could understand the need for a body kit to facilitate wider wheels so the power gets to the street, instead of boiling the skins when you drop the hammer, but simply adding a body kit for looks? Its an FD, they are the flyest **** rollin' off gasoline!

Stick w/ the performance mods, leave the cosmetic **** for ... WHEN YOU'RE SICK OF GOING FAST?

first of all is there some law of doing both? why can't you go fast and look good doing it. as for the weight those fiberglass pieces were about half of the weight of the plastic ones. the only thing that has added weight has been the rear wheels 9 lbs on each side to be exact but i feel it's worth the trade off to hold more rubber.

as for the flamers that are trying to flame, i sure do see a lot of sigs w/ modified cars (pretty cars)and not a one of just a stock 7. dont get me wrong i believe the 7 to be the greatest car on the road even when it is stock, but if we are so interested in stock why bother with performance parts THEIR NOT STOCK.

going fast and looking good doing it is great, A stock FD looks great as is. I think all ppl are saying (including myself) is you have all the lookin' good **** done, and all the go fast goodies sittin' on the floor, it just seems assbackwards.

My 89Rag project, for instance, is a ******' tank, 3000 some odd pounds, its no where near a race car, Its a cruiser w/ a mild modded n/a engine and a sweet sound system, I know it isnt fast, but it looks/sounds good.

The FD will be another story...My philosiphy is this;

If you don't like my toys due to your personal preference, or petty jealousies, dont say anything...as they are all paid for and bring me great personal satisfaction.

When you post a topic asking opinions thats exactly what you'll get, the bottom line is do what You want to YOUR ride. You have to develop tough skin around here, ya know?, you asked so we're tellin, you dig?

not stock is not stock. you cant argue that, you put the pieces that came on the 1999s in japan. guess what were not in japan and your car is not a 99. once you begin to mod a car it all comes down to personal preference so

f** OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About the body kit, hood, and wheels.. I see no problem in those purchases. I think the others were simply saying if you want the 400rwhp, it's best to start with power mods then move to the cosmetics.. and sure the hood/body kit will relieve some extra weight, but that won't add hp. But hell if you have the money.. get the body kit, etc. and the power mods.

Rx7machine thank you

the only reason i haven't added the rest of my parts, first of all i live about 500 miles from any rotary shop and have to do the work myself with the help of local mechanic friends. and second i am trying not to blow my motor. it would be stupid to add all of my parts and just hope the car runs fine or that it doesn't lean out.
