jsut wondering if the stock tranny gears are able to hit 200 mph? if not what would be a good gearing?

I'm pretty sure it has more to do with your rear end ( final drive ).
Manual FD's have a 4.10 A Auto has a 3.73 i think So the Auto rear end would be better for top speed But i dont see why a 4.10 cant hit 200 with enough power behind it. |
4.10's might be pushing it a little. Do you plan on driving 200mph anytime soon?

if you do the math, 200mph is something like 8500rpms. my buddy popped hs engine @188....

I think I read that the FD is geared for 201 mph.

had mine to about 175 indicated also. I need my ass kicked for that too. There is no reason the car needs to go that fast if not on a track or you're attempting to break the speed record for the FD class or something at Bonneville.

well for a long run like that the temps prolly got too high and it detonated. with the stock turbos, i'm not sure you can put enough cooling in the car to keep the oil water and intake air temps from getting too hot after a long run like that |

have friends who raced at 180.... but 200 is pretty fast i guess its not reall that much faster than 180 but its still really fast haha... if i were you id invest in some nice ass safety equipment, a nicer gear set and rear end would make 200 pretty easy to attain just have to worry about cooling issues, at that point i dont know what **** you could buy to keep it cool enough to avoid it popping aside from race ****
