Ok, since I have everything out... I'm going to go ahead and pull all these goddamn vacuum lines.

Anyone have actual pics of what I keep? How bout the exhaust manifold modification? Anything is a help... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

r_xplicit 04-13-2003 08:31 PM

uhh....justin.....take a god look at the top sode of the housings where the solenoid rack is.....OK....no pretend there is nothing there......that is what will be left when you are done....unless you are on the stock ecu, then you will need to leave the solenoid connectors in with some resistors in them. that is what i have done for now. i am getting a PFC in a month, and when i do, i will rid myself of the rest of the wires....

you will need to have the tca door completely cut ou tof the manifold....you do not need it....

there will be approximately 5 vacuum lines left, tow of the main ones are connected by a T and ventilate the oil injection and the the other main one goes from the FPR to the LIM.....

i hope that this gives you a good idea as to what you need....

9BASE3 04-13-2003 09:21 PM

Thanks lou... I'm SO ready to have all that bullshit off of there. Just wanna make sure I have a full understanding of what the hell I'm doing first. I've been very proud of saying that my sequentials worked fine... So I'd like to have the same result Non-Seq... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

You need to modify and block off the unused pipes on the UIM

You gotta hack this flapper off as Louis was sayin. Right where the I drew the pretty red line..

Fd3BOOST 04-13-2003 09:57 PM

Dude just catch me on aim. I can walk you through the whole thing and provide pics obviously if it makes it smoother for ya.

Dave, thanks man! The pics help a lot. I hope to get started on it this week. School and work has most of my time... I'll catch you on AIM sometime though... When I get started. My name is jdhuegel1. Thanks again!

Justin

Fd3BOOST 04-13-2003 11:42 PM

OK im adding you to my buddy list. I'll get some better pics of everything for you too.

Fd3BOOST 04-13-2003 11:44 PM

Youre gonna need about six 1/2 watt 330 ohm resistors and some male electrical spade connectors too for the solinoids. Unless you have a power fc but i guess you dont?

Fd3BOOST 04-13-2003 11:45 PM

Also, how are you planning on controlling boost?

I currently have the PMS. Newest version.

Will I need something more than my ECU?

Fd3BOOST 04-14-2003 01:43 AM

Yea

you will

Fd3BOOST 04-14-2003 01:43 AM

Manual style boost controller would work best, unless you happen to have a ProfecB laying around.

9BASE3 04-14-2003 02:06 AM

Cool, thanks. I'll do the Manual... I don't see spending 300 bones on a boost controller. I had a profec B on my integra... Liked it alot, but could have done just fine with a dial-a-boost controller...

helihansen 04-14-2003 07:09 AM

Hey I just did the non-sequential to my car and I can walk you through everything as well. You will LOVE the feel of NS. Its like lag until 3k which is really nothing then it feels like jet engine. Anyway I saved all my info on how to do it and sites that will help you out ALOT. You can catch me on AIM as well (Helihansen) https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif .

Thanks! I'll catch you online sometime then!

fd3boost:

did you powdercoat your fuel lines? It looks awesome either way, i wish i would have a taken a lot more time with my rebuild so i could make it all pretty and stuff, yet my engine bay is touted as "really clean" by others.. just not to me. I rebuilt my engine and stuffed it back in, in about 1 month. I just wish i coulda powdercoated a lot of stuff. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

wraith 05-12-2003 08:33 AM

oh my god you can make them non sequential!? where can i find more info on this? anyone have a site where i can look at their setup?

MazdaMike 05-12-2003 12:33 PM

phew man where u been, use the search link, there are a bunch of thread crawling around about this conversion.

wraith 05-12-2003 02:20 PM

yeah i just bought my FD 3 weeks ago thanks i'll use the search

jspecracer7 05-12-2003 07:03 PM

Non-sequentials were so much fun. Little bit of lag but full boost at 3200 rpms and lots of midrange pull.

What position should that flapper be in if I don't remove it?

GarageBoy 05-26-2003 08:11 PM

Can't you use the PFC with an new solenoid to control boost?

Wire it open, so wire the part that attaches to the tca actuator rod all the way towards the front of the car.

JaySpec7 05-26-2003 11:45 PM

Can you post pics of where all the vacuum lines go?? thanks...

9BASE3 05-27-2003 11:01 AM

Damn... Where is that modified vacuum diagram rikki made a while back... Looking...

grinn253 05-27-2003 07:54 PM

I've seen people indicate that full boost using non-sequential comes on anywhere from 2800 to 3800. It was believed something was wrong with the conversion if full boost is on at 3800, or the 'user' does not have enough supporting mods (full exhaust/intake/ic)

Some questions https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

1) What supporting modifications are required for 'full boost' at around 2800 to 3000?

2) What rpms does the boost hold until? redline?

Thanks!

Edgardo

twinturborx7pete 05-27-2003 11:11 PM

1) Full exhaust, ported wastegate, upgraded intercooler, and it would be wise to have a PFC and some upgraded injectors. If you do non-seq without a PFC or some other stand alone, you risk a spot in the fuel map to be lean and too rich in some areas.

2) all the way to redline and beyond.

Yes, buy the AVC-R boost solenoid and plug it into the stock boost solenoid connector and you should be golden.

JaySpec7 05-29-2003 07:48 AM

any pics yet of the 5 vacuum lines?? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/wacko.png

jspecracer7 05-29-2003 08:11 AM

Pics? Just connect them to any nipple that comes off of the UIM. The rest of them plug up. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

Jay jay jay, dude your so Haggard..

Ok here ya go ya hurt piece.

Ok the green line goes into the charge relief valve, the blue line goes to the BOV.

Fd3BOOST 05-29-2003 01:09 PM

Here is where the green line attaches into the charge relief valve as I mentioned above.

The "Y" pipe assmbley should have been set up the way that I showed you in your other thread.

The little tiny spot of green hose you can see in the lower left corner in the above pic is this hose.

You could of just cap the nipples on this pipe off instead.

Fd3BOOST 05-29-2003 01:21 PM

1 Attachment(s)
Then you got this blue line that comes off the nipple facing down on the Y pipe. It attaches to a nipple on the LIM directly under the fuel rail.

The other nipple on the y pipe goes to the pressure tank taht you remove in poor mans nonsequential.

These green lines in this pic are for the oil jets.

Fd3BOOST 05-29-2003 01:23 PM

1 Attachment(s)
That blue line tucks down here and attaches on a nipple, you should be able to see it.

Fd3BOOST 05-29-2003 01:25 PM

1 Attachment(s)
Here is the front nipples on the uim. I have the top two looped off and the bottom ones goes to my boost guage.

Fd3BOOST 05-29-2003 01:28 PM

1 Attachment(s)
Then here you see the long line that goes up into the firewall for the boost guage.

The line that comes off the map sensor that you see goes to the nipple on the rear of the uim that is right next to the throttle position sensor. . Cap all the other nipples on the UIM.
