Based on price/perofrmance, features, ease of installation and troubleshooting, etc. What are you using now? and how is it working out for you?

for me, right now, I like the haltech stuff. I got an e6k for $900 new in box with the flying lead harness, 3 bar map, all sensors, and gm weatherpack connector kit... along with a nice printed manual.



though, I'm very biased to the E6K because I've already invested alot of time and effort figuring out the serial communcations of the ecu and writing code for LCD gauges to run off of the engine data it makes available.



it also has quite a few extra outputs for controlling stuff like thermofans, torque converter, waste gates etc.

 

If this would be for a non-turbo, Microtech is supposed to be coming out with an N/A version sometime soon. Benefits will be more load points under atmosphere to tune at. Microtech is already a pretty good bargain, and since I personally know a dealer, I should be able to get ahold of everything I need easily. Of course, that's next year's project.



It's always nice to have an EMS with lots of auxiliary outputs. N/A guys would love to be able to control the auxiliary ports with an aftermarket EMS.

 

I'm also going to say go for the haltec, PM me when you want one

and i'm not aware of any lcd gauges available which are compatible with the data coming off the rs232 from the E6K.



I believe the Motec ADL works with the E11 though... but I'm using a linux system on a embedded computer to run my gauges, datalog, play mp3s, record movies off usb cameras, and aquire other data using a 8 channel analog to digital converter like oil pressure, fuel level, steering position (AAS steering sensor) and EGT's, so I can draw gauges on the LCD for all this stuff the E6K doesnt even know about still, and also datalog them.

 

the more load points under atmosphere is smoke and mirrors. generally you have a load vs injection time vs rpm fuel map. if you have a 1 bar map sensor you have a load range of -15psi to 0 psi. if you have a 2 bar map sensor you have

-15psi to 15psi load range. so your na more load points under atmosphere microtech is the same as me using a 1 bar map sensor on my haltech.



i'm not knocking the microtech it seems to work fine, but they always have to sell it with fancy buzzwords and hype and that is lame imo. if it looks like a duck acts like a duck, call it a duck

I would have to agree with Mike on the fancy buzzwords for Microtech, but they'd have to be one of teh only companies who designed their ecu around a rotary engine and not just adapt a piston engine ecu to make it work.

i like motec its a lil more pricey but well worth it in my own opinion

 

It seems like Haltec is the big winner, maybe I'll post a poll and get some more feedback.
