Dude, you have a NA. Unless you have a huge port and are really pushing alot of power, there is no need for a standalone. Just get a SAFC. You also have to realize that a chip will not be perfect. As I said in the other post, every car is different, so it will not be perfect. The SAFC will allow you to tune your car and not have someone else guess what your car needs.

Ahh who says you dont need a standalon on a stock port car. I have seen acouple guys pick up up to 40 hp with a stand alone. Saf-c's are primative at best, yeah they get the job done for beginers, but part throttle is the biggest thing I had problems with out of my car. For example if you let out of the gas to quick it would die, if you floor shifted it, it would act funny, and just other stupid things like that. A standalone you have more control over everything. But for beginers yes a S-AFc is great, emanages are complicated and confusing to use I would stay away unless you know someone that already has a base map.

it should work with any kind of fuel injected vehicle.



the e-manage gets spliced into the harness between the engine and ECU.

You could also get a megasquirt for about the price of a SAFC, and the newest version has fuel and both leading a trailing spark controll. I do think there is benifits to be had over the stock ECU, other than fuel controll the stocker has less than optimal ignition curves. There is power to be had by adding a standalone.

Total I have spent so far for my Megasquirt, solder, LM1815 chips (for interpriting the CAS) is right at $167. Thats including wire...because I get it for $.01/ft from here at work.

I think they are 300 preassembeled.
