Brand new optima red top (it never really gets that cold here), and I recently re-soldered, re-crimped, and covered the cable-to-terminals connections. I never unplugged my TPS, but I'll make sure it's plugged in. Tach works fine, as far as I can tell. I don't know about a bad coil, but the car runs perfectly fine other than the idle issue.

I'll try it according to the FSM, and see how that works out.

I would try to set the TPS by feel and not with the light method
I took a screwdriver with me the other day. Before leaving at lunch, before even starting up the car, I just turned the tps set screw a little, and the idle screw a little, and figured if that didn't work adjust it again when I got where I was going. I was just going to fiddle with it throughout the day.

But on the first try, after warming up, it idled fine! Yay for random adjustments!

nest up: rolling fenders. My new tires rub like a bitch.

I have never used the lights method, I just adjust till it feels right

on my vert I have never had to touch anything, just seems like every other car I get I have to adjust to get them to run right.

People need to learn to leave these things alone if there are no problems!
