Why Does It Smoke?
#1
1988 TII, 80,000 miles.
Abolutely no smoke on startup.
No smoke anytime until the turbo applies boost.
I can run the car up to 5000 rpm on the highway and no smoke.
After boost is applied and you let off of the accelerator, it smokes like crazy at any rpm. In other words, it doesn't appear to smoke during boost, just afterward.
White smoke & smells like oil smoke but hard to tell.
The car is all stock and original. It runs like new.
Anybody got ideas?

Turbos wasted.
Same thing happend to me 2 weeks ago. I didnt think it was the turbo until all it did was smoke. Then yanked it off and before the turbine, clean as could be, but after, nothing but burnt oil.
