Whats the closest to 0 offset wheel I can get without rubbing/contact problems. Would an offset of 18 be way too much? I know the stock offset is +35. How far can I go for the offset? I like wheels that look deep-dish.

Stock is +38. The offset you use depends on the width of the rim, as well as the tire.

Lets say I want to use a 16 x 8.5 on 225/50 tires. Could I use an offset as low as +18?

I would say to go with 30-32. This is what I run:

Front: 18x8, +30 mm offset, 225/40/18

Rear: 18x9, +30 mm offset, 275/35/18.

The rears rubbed the fenders until I rolled them. The fronts will only rub over a big bump.

Do you have pics of your setup? I'd like to see how much +30 looks like.

Alot of rims are out there now that look like they are deep, but arent. Mine have a full 2" lip.
