How well does the UIM fit over the block without an adapter? Does the oil fill tube still fit? Wouldn't changing the length of the overall distance from LIM through the UIM also change some driveability/hp characteristics?

I've got the first pictured one ordered, the FEED one is almost $400 new https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.png.

If you have a standalone EMS you don't need the TPS wiring pigtail.

No, you need to cut it down a little bit. I'm doing this in the process of turboing my N/A, and the guy included a cut-down TII oil filler neck for $10.

Edit: I'm a moron, this thread was linked in another thread and I thought it was current. Appologies for old-thread bumpage.

ok here's what you need to do an FD UIM to an FC LIM:

A) S5 LIM...only.

B) FD TB, FD TPS, FD THrottle Cable and bracket

C) Either the FD Oil filler base piece or cut down your FC filler base as low as possible and reweld it together

D) Lengthen bolt holes on the FD UIM using the center bolt hole as the reference mark

E) Port match the FD UIM to the S5 LIM (primaries on the UIM are tinier then on the LIM)

And of course youll have to be able to wire the FD TPS into your FC harness, so having a standaloen ECU makes this swap a lot easier.

it's not really a quickie project.

kevin.
