Why would you need that?

Fd3BOOST 11-18-2003 08:37 PM

Incase you want to add injectors.

You can add them into that spacer.

At least that is what I can tell from some ofthe pics in my RX7 magazines.

FikseRxSeven 11-18-2003 08:42 PM

maybe its an adapter for fc's?

93 R1 11-18-2003 08:42 PM

I thought I saw something like that, but its pretty gay. What do they come out at a 90* angle from the manifold?

turbovr6 11-18-2003 08:51 PM

fuel injectors, nos foggers, water injection. any of that crap you don't really need https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

93 R1 11-18-2003 08:52 PM

You don't need it, but I guess its cool to have

turbovr6 11-18-2003 08:53 PM

there may be another use, but I doubt it would apply to our cars. I know they make throttle body spacers for most GM trucks, supposedly adds more torque. like I said though, doubt it would effect our cars, I'll just stick with my first response https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

93 R1 11-18-2003 08:56 PM

agreed. With forced induction a spacer probably doesn't do much

vosko 11-18-2003 08:57 PM

i think you can use that to put a FD UIM on a FC ?

93 R1 11-18-2003 08:59 PM

Buy it and find out https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

BINGO!!!

The LIM is from an FC. The upper is of course FD. It's an adapter to fit the FD upper intake onto an FC. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

FrestyleFC3S 11-18-2003 10:01 PM

how much do those usually cost?

TheCamel 11-19-2003 08:31 PM

¥25,000 ussually is what I have seen them for on auctions, JT-Imports can get them from Feed

JT-Imports 11-19-2003 08:47 PM

Yeah like you guys said.. Here you go, we dont sell them much from FEED, but deals can always be worked out.

http://www.jt-imports.com/FEEDFCthro...xchangekit.jpg

FikseRxSeven 11-19-2003 08:54 PM

i know smoeone that might need them? how much are they... in dollars

JT-Imports 11-19-2003 09:03 PM

Im sure Camels price is accurate, so that would be around $265. shipped

FEED is more expensive, but could always work a deal. Normal price on FEEDs

is $375.95 shipped.

Auction ones are always cheaper. But sometimes unknown makers even though aluminum is aluminum, but matching maybe a little off.

For that?!

Crap, I might as well use coke cans and make one myself. Thats a crazy price. I was going to guess somewhere around $100-150.

I suppose its hand-crafted (welded...put together...)

JT-Imports 11-19-2003 10:00 PM

Actually its just a single piece machined and matched. I could have them machined and made cheaper too of course, its the name.

FikseRxSeven 11-19-2003 10:04 PM

who cares about the name, as long as it works

Danno 11-19-2003 10:16 PM

For a round figure in yen the conversion from 25,000 yen is around $250.00 that would be the 1 to 1 exchange rate though. It acctually less than 250 dollars

JT-Imports 11-19-2003 10:45 PM

OK well I will go make one if someone orders, there is a good shop down the street (talk prices later)

25,000 Yahoo auction.

Humm ok add tax 5%, add Yahoo fee 3% add shipping of aluminum roughly $25-$30, HINTS the $265.95 price shipped, with the actual YEN conversion that we get.(this was me making ONE HELL-O deal) Granted I can get my own metal free, and the machining I could have a buddy do it, if the shops in Japan were busy for just a case of beer.

OOOOOOOOOOOOO I forgot, dont forget they have to ship it to me, so I can pack properly, so thats another $10. Most packages coming in from YAHOO AUCTIONs are in bubble wrap only, mutiple boxes, not international shippable..

SORRY if i sound like a dick, but YAHOO AUCTIONS are pissing me off since most everyone sees 2,000 yen and says that only $18.00 I will take it, but they dont want to pay more then $18.00. If you got it it EBAY would it only be $18? NOPE.

Now I have some regulars that buy stuff every week and understand perfectly what is up. I make close to "0" since I have to box it FREE, Pack it FREE and drive to the post office or UPS etc... to ship it.

Maybe I should post a THREAD about it? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/violin.gif

TheCamel 11-19-2003 10:54 PM

Lets put it this way folks, Yahoo auctiions are great IF you live in Japan, have a japnese bank account, can speak and read japanese and you know the system. I played with the auctions while I was there, and yes I know about all the hidden fee's and JT you forgot about the bank transfer fee. My posting of the price was to tell you what they listed for on auction ussually, which is a STARTING price, it does not mean they will sell for that. JT is a business man as most of you are, Selling items is what he does, and he may or may not make a profit, I am not his personal accountant. but I do know from playing on the auctions and E-bay americans are fickle, they will pay $200 for a set of FC taillights that they can buy from a local junkyard, but will scoff at a guy trying to sell an item for a small profit. The thing you have to realize is that a lot of the cost involves international shipping. Not everybody has the ability to get to a US post office on a military base in Japan (such as Jason) so he has to ship through international mail, now fourth class mail from japan, which would be the cheapest, would arrive just in time for christmas.....next year.

Jason, let me know if you decide to get one made, I'll be a test dummy for you.

JT-Imports 11-19-2003 10:59 PM

"Thanks THECAMEL..."

Yeah I forgot about bank transfer fees haha

No kidding on other mail. I wish I could send it other ways, but EMS is the best, tracking, insurance, and quick.

On base--I remember it hehe anything would cost right at $20 to send, as long as its not too big for USPS like EMS also.

I wish they didnt do that BS with the 5% tax and 3% service charge, but a lot of people are greedy for cash over here too.

Strangly enough, I really dont buy anything for my car on the auctions, unless its none electrical or mechanical, i always like to get those things new.

Maybe we can move this over to the 2nd GEN section since the part is for them basically and if there was an interest I could have them made pretty cheap.

turbovr6 11-20-2003 06:55 PM

I'll move it for you https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

adamlewis 11-20-2003 11:38 PM

Holy ****! I want one!

jspecracer7 11-21-2003 12:11 AM

Here's a perfect example of the yahoo auctions system.

I bought a CF Type R integra ash tray for Rutt. Start bid was 100Y. He set max at 1000Y. Final bid price was 110Y = $1.10 ... With bank fees, yahoo fees, shipping...it came out to 2600Y...or roughly $26.00 https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

Ricer240sx 01-18-2005 07:43 PM

ok, i know this is old as ****, but im interested in throwing a FD UIM on my car and came apon this while searching!

so.....is this nessesary for the swap?? or can i just alter the holes?? and if it is, any one know the dimensions of it?? i could take it to the machine shop at school and have them make one for me! lol

The adapter is not necessery for the swap. While the electrical pigtail would be nice to have (to use the FD TPS on an FC), attaching the manifolds together (S5 lower to S6 upper) requires lengthening the bolt holes on the S6 manifold and port matching the manifolds. I've been told the S6 gasket is better to use.

Ricer240sx 01-18-2005 10:04 PM

what about S4 LIM??

miltstheman 01-19-2005 10:23 AM

How well does the UIM fit over the block without an adapter? Does the oil fill tube still fit? Wouldn't changing the length of the overall distance from LIM through the UIM also change some driveability/hp characteristics?

I've got the first pictured one ordered, the FEED one is almost $400 new https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.png.

If you have a standalone EMS you don't need the TPS wiring pigtail.

No, you need to cut it down a little bit. I'm doing this in the process of turboing my N/A, and the guy included a cut-down TII oil filler neck for $10.

Edit: I'm a moron, this thread was linked in another thread and I thought it was current. Appologies for old-thread bumpage.

teknics 03-24-2005 03:23 PM

ok here's what you need to do an FD UIM to an FC LIM:

A) S5 LIM...only.

B) FD TB, FD TPS, FD THrottle Cable and bracket

C) Either the FD Oil filler base piece or cut down your FC filler base as low as possible and reweld it together

D) Lengthen bolt holes on the FD UIM using the center bolt hole as the reference mark

E) Port match the FD UIM to the S5 LIM (primaries on the UIM are tinier then on the LIM)

And of course youll have to be able to wire the FD TPS into your FC harness, so having a standaloen ECU makes this swap a lot easier.

it's not really a quickie project.

kevin.
