How the hell can a person manually adjust the TPS? @_@
Some days my idle is perfect at like 800, and sometimes it revs itself between 1,500-1,700 constantly. Even if I am stopped and let off the clutch as if I were going to let it grab, it goes right back up. WTF eh?

you need a voltometer to adjust the TPS. There is a spring loaded adjustment screw for the TPS. Look it up in the fsm. It will show you where to plug the voltometer into and how to set it to 1v.

I've noticed (after f*cking with it) that mine is all the way over on lean. Apparently done by the previous owner, who also put in one of those fuel line crossover pressure bleed fittings. The car has always been a bear to restart when its warmed up. In fact, I didn't get to the strip last Friday because of it. Shut the car off at the gas station and couldn't get it started.
I'm pretty much waiting for my Haltech to come in, and then I'm doing the TB mod, replacing my injectors, and getting this thing right.

Sounds exactly like the TPS is out of adjustment. Adjusting the TPS on an S5 is easy.
Here is how you do it.

you try playing with it?
oh and put the wb on it now, but leave the original 02 hooked up, and then you'll know what mixtures to tune too, this will speed things up a lot!

The previous owner or an “unqualified to do anything but change oil” mechanic could have cranked it to the lean setting in order to fix a “flooding problem”. The resistor has nothing to do with starting issues, but when some people hear “flood” they think “running rich”. They also hear that the variable resistor adjusts the A/F ratios. So they could have added 1 plus 1, come up with 37, and cranked the variable resistor all the way lean.
If you follow the previous instructions, you can set it back where it belongs.
