its not a cold air box, its the air flow meter. I was just asking because mine has "HKS" raised on it in metal. Is that why intake kits are so much, they include a new air flow meter? seems like a lot of hardware just to measure air flow. what, no pitot tube?
sure it not just the HKS adapter bolted onto the MAF?
That must be what he's seeing.

I have the HKS adapter, and it doesn't have the logo on it anywhere. Maybe it's an upgraded AFM. (?)

what does this adapter look like? i have a rubber hose connecting the filter to the AFM. then the new black hose connecting the AFM to the turbo. that's it.

The adapter is a square plate with a round outlet (I guess it would be an inlet) that you attach the filter to, because the opening on the AFM is square.

From what I have heard from others, and from tests that were run on the major brands of air filters, the A'PEXi filter was the best and the HKS was the worst. That is just from memory.
