I was wondering what intakes would work good for a turbo 2.
|
Just about any old cone filter will work. I asked this question awhile ago and ended up just buying an APC filter from Pep Boys.
Ractive and APC are two inexpensive brands. |
ideally you want the biggest filter you can fit, but most cones are bigger than the stock filter. its prolly good to stay away from the foam ones.

how bout iceman is that a good intake i have a hks intake but it is in my 87 n/a would that work or does it need extra hoses because it looks different
|
where can I buy those big ass intakes i always see right on the turbos?
|
If the TII is an S4, the same filter setup would work. I had the HKS on my TII and wasn't happy with it, so I replaced the filter with an APC.
I don't think Iceman makes a kit for Mazdas...damn, I haven't heard that brand name in years. |
do these setups only involve the filter cone, or also that metal box? I know mine is hks (says it on the cone and box), and that it didn't fit right (the last owner just let it dangle) do i made it a nice aluminum mounting bracket --> nice and snug. just wondering.

Describe the metal box. If it's big and surrounds the filter, it doesn't come with most systems. If it's small and the filter attaches to it, then it's the air flow meter, and it's on the car already.
|
its not a cold air box, its the air flow meter. I was just asking because mine has "HKS" raised on it in metal. Is that why intake kits are so much, they include a new air flow meter? seems like a lot of hardware just to measure air flow. what, no pitot tube?
