Cause if it were me I'd be fucked.

That said, the stock gauge might be accurate, but to what? It doesn't give you a ******* temp, it just says C H last I checked temps were measures in degrees usually preceeded by a numerical value. Man I'm fucked my car almost H'd today.

I just thought I remembered reading that (I could stop right here, my memory sucks) the H was exactly [some temp] which was the temp that usually spells doom, I don't know. Anyways, I'll just see if I can get it home, then replace the thermostat and go from there.

ok lets assume that H = 270 and C = 0. Let's say that at 230 the engine *****. Where on the gauge can you guarantee that 230 is? Where can you gurantee any temp other then 0 and 245?

I hate stock temp guages. Not to mention with a quarter sweep guage the difference between running and junk even if you had #'s would be minimal, at least with a full sweep gauge you can watch the rise 5 degrees at a time. With the above #'s you got very little movement and you've raised temps from acceptible to junk.

Wife is on her way to Mazda to get a t-stat, and bringing it to me with an assortment of tools, and some jugs of water. I can't think of what else could be the problem. I'm sure it's fine, it's just easier to assume the worse possible case.
