ok i have a question if it is a GTU it should npt have a boost controller, Should it????????? My 88t2 does the same thing I think it is the Fuel Cut kicking in. An FCD should solve the problem. It could aslo be a bad fuel pump. It may not be able to keep up with demand a higher RPM with your foot on the go pedel,

yeah, it's a GTU, so he doesn't have a boost controller.

in your turboII, if you get the hesitation anytime when you're not boosting and anywhere in the powerband, it's definitely not fuel cut.

the book i have for my car refers to the little black box on the passenger side strut tower as the boost controller, in my n/a there is a spot for 2, there is an empty spot closest to the outside of the car, but there is a little black box closer in, which was referred to as the "boost controller"

Here's the deal on the TPS:

When it wears out, it can still give a solid test at idle, but can have drop-outs in the sweep of resistance values as you open the throttle.

So, as you step on the gas, the ECU sees intermittant "idle" signals & gives intermittant fuel cuts.

i think im going to look into the tps thing a little more, but i have a feeling it might be more of an actual fuel system problem, i started replacing things starting with the fuel filter, etc, and that seemed to help somewhat. it used to happen almost all the time, but now, less than half as often. i dont think it would be the fuel pump, but something tells me that my injectors might be contributing to the problem. hesitation is at no specific rpm still, sometimes occuring from the 3-5k rpm range, other times not occuring till after the 5.5k rpm mark

Maybe have the injectors cleaned? The secondaries open at 3800 rpm, but I guess if both primary and secondary's were clogged up, you could have an issue at higher rpms.

i wouldnt trust a place like jiffy lube to clean my injectors...... you can either send them out to get them cleaned or just replace them, there pretty cheap if you shop around..

Make sure your secnodaries are getting full voltage to the injectors. Like, I had a injector clip loose on my secondaries and it caused a problem like that because the injector wasn't completely firing.
