Wastegate - Boost Controller Questions
#1
I'm in the process of hooking up my boost controller and I have a couple of questions. I'm using a Greddy Profec B II and an HKS wategate. I believe I should have a line running from my IC piping to the BC valve unit to the wastegate. At first I though the brass nipple in the pic below was the spot to run the line, after reviewing the Profec directions it looks like there should be another nipple in the top of the wastegate where it is threaded. Is this true? Where do I find the proper nipple? Do the brass nipple just get hooked up to a vacuum source? Also what attaches to the large hole on the wastegate?

Where it says "What goes here", that should be some sort of piping going to your downpipe, or leave it open and have your car sound like an airplane. Thats where the exhaust comes out when the wastegate opens.
There should be a nipple there. You need a good sized vaccum line going to it so it knows what the pressure is.

OK, I thought that was where the wastegate dumps but wanted to double check. Anyone know about my nipples? Is the brass one for vacuum and the missing one goes to the BC? Anyone know what threading I need for the missing nipple.

I'm guessing that there is a Diaphram and Spring under there so the Brass nipple would get BOOST from the manifold and the other side has a threaded screw to adjust the spring?
Just a guess on my part.
The other part is your DUMP for your Turbo to blow off too much pressure. Porsches (well others too) used to plumb them out the rear of the car with a smaller pipe and shoot some pretty cool flames when downshifting.

Thanks for the replies.
FYI - the hole for nipple is 1/8NPT and I needed to use a 90 degree hose barb to make sure it would not interfere with the downpipe. Just in case someone needs to know for future reference.
