My 87 turbo II has a unique problem. When I attempt to start the car it sputters and tries to fire up. However , when the intercooler is removed it will idle on its own for around 20 seconds then dies. All emissions have been removed and blocked off. I have also checked all the vaccum lines and they are all capped or installed properly. Any suggestions would be welcome.

 

check your MAF... could be the problem

 

Hmmm did the check according to the FSM but to no avail. everything looks good. thanks for the the tip though
