Longest I ever drove for a part was from Nashville to Knoxville to get my engine from Landers.
Otherwise, over 20 miles, ship that ****!! |
I'm turning my Vert into TII.
So far, TII drivetrain $400 Engine $400 + over haul kit which I'll be doing myself so that would about 600 on top of that for seals and gaskets depending on what get's replaced. This is my second NA to TII status change on another car. First time was much expensive. |
being that im only 16 i dont quite have the resources to travel the country looking for a tII so i would really prefer to do the swap myself, and i want to learn more about my car and how it operates... so doing a swap would help me on that front as well.
But if its something that i really shouldnt be starting i would have to start saving and looking until i could find a TII and sell my na additionally, I guess the question i was really looking to get answered is: Would it be totally absurd for someone like me (no hands-on experience under the hood) to do a turbo swap for a fair price? and other than JDM how could i line up all the needed parts? i.e. tranny/ecu/wiring without getting the wrong stuff? im really oblivious when it comes to this kind of stuff but i do want to learn! and, another thing ive been wondering, is there anywhere you can buy kits to build your own 13b? man, im just full of noob questions =) |

I have most of the TII driveline in my attic, but I am waiting until the NA stuff grenades first.
If it aint broke don't fix it right!! I still need to get a flywheel, and diff. Once the driveline swap occurs I am installing all the stiff mounts (collecting dust) I am still working on more power first!!! |
