Turbo costs

Alright, so ive had my rx7 for almost a year now and i love the little thing 
, but i would like even more from it >=D
Looking around at forums and such has lead me to believe that the best way to do this would be a turbo swap or just adding a turbo onto it. Seeing as im 16 and make all my moneys during the summer which would be the best way for me to do it?
buying an s4 turbo II and swapping it in? (also, ive read some bad things about JDM, are these true?)
sticking a turbo on my NA and just changing a few parts?
buying a turbo II rx7 (really not ideal seeing as i live in nebraska and ive only seen 4 other rx7s around)
any opinions and insight would be greatly appreciated.

honestly man if you only have one car i wouldnt turn your only rx7 into a turbo project.
if you really want a turbo rx7 your MUCH better off just buying one and keeping your non turbo as a daily driver.
jdm engines vary greatly in quality , although SOME get away just installing as is and its ok MOST dont and no reputable engine builder would recommend installing a jdm engine WITHOUt rebuilding it first!
keep in mind also that to do the TII swap CORRECTLY you pretty much need the whole tii anyways because you'd want the tranny rear end & axles.

Bah, I've been using the NA driveline for 2 years now with no issues. But that aside-
If you work fast and have the ability a TII swap shouldn't take but a few hours.
Get an S4TII from a JDM supplier, have it shipped to Rotary Resurrection, have it rebuild with no emissions and a streetport, ask him to put an NA flywheel on it. In the meantime, locate the items the engine might not come with, AFM, ECU, Boost sensor, ect. If you can , source an S5 turbo and manifold and install those before you put the engine in.
Easy as pie, and inexpensive way to get the swap done and on the road.

Depends on how you drive and how much power you have. I see broken t2 drivetrains every other week...

Diddo revvin - there is no way an NA tranny would put up with even a little turbo abuse on the autox or time attack, lol. Stop driving your car like a grandma
Everything else aside, at 16 - don't get involved with a project car, seriously. You want a turbo rx7, go out and buy a turboII. I know money is tight at that age unless you've got rich and understanding parents, otherwise, project cars are no fun. You could sell your NA and buy a T2, but it may take a little extra cash and you might have to do a little road trip.
My friends and I have driven hundreds of miles to get a clean T2. My one buddy drove from VA to upstate NY on a thursday just to LOOK at an '87 T2. It was super clean, he came home the same day then drove BACK on Sat to get it... good cars are worth the drive.

I don't autoX, or do time attack. This is a street car. But I do go to Deals Gap every year and beat the living **** out of it. And when I drive her on the weekends, I'm not friendly either.
If you don't miss shifts, you should have little worries.

Lol, I dont miss shifts - i guess i just make too much power for the NA's max (and thats the later ribbed NA tranny too, the earlier ones probably wont even take that much abuse)..
If you do have the NA tranny thats ribbed I think you'll get more luck..those early smooth trans suck!

i dont even want to list the trips ive taken for stuff. hell NJ to pittsburgh = 6hours and over 300 miles each way i drove nonstop in a 91 suburban to pick up and tow an NA all the way home with me...and a broken NA at that.
then i drove from NJ to one320b's place in VA to pickup just a motor....in that same n/a i bought.
damn i need to stop taking trips...except for when i drive out to sevenstock
