Ok I know an automatic N/A RX-7 is a slow azz bucket of a car. I am going to make my car mostley for looks now mabey later on i will do an engine swap or something of the sort for performance reasons, but for now im not. If i want to have some boost like below 5-6 PSI would it be to difficult to do? I want to keep it auto cause it is more comfortable to drive till I go performance where I would go manual. What in general would I need to do and modify to accomdate the added boost?
|
Well, if you want to go with a high boost turbo, I'd actually stick with the automatic. If your current tranny is fucked, get a new one, and strenghten it, add a cooler. Turbo and automatic complement themselves, you don't loose any boost, and that's a good thing. But, I hear mazda automatics arent too great.
Just my two cents. ;p |
a nice DISC TYPE clutch in your car converted to 5 speed tranny will be very comfortable.....that puck clutch **** i ******* HATE IT (such ******* bullshit)....just my 2 cents
make sure the 5th and 6th ports are opening.. just drive smoothly lol |
is a manual swap to hard?

With only 1375 posts you are still a newb!

might be but you know what im a whole lot more knowledgeable than when i wrote this thread Im even building my car on my own so ..... . . .

Get a jspec s4 with the auto transmission and dump it in your car. use s4 t2 ecu, afm, and pressure sensor. then let us know.
if it works out I might do it as well. Your car will already have the auto transmission mounts, auto cpu, and radiator. |
Walken did you happen to see the date on the first post I brought this from the grave this was a newbie post ! ! !
|
hah! nope, but I've always hoped to see a auto turbo. would be a fun commuter.
