if anyone wants to explain what all is required please do, i found a 88 turbo 2 with an excellent body and new rebuilt tranny, just has a blown engine, the guy onlt wants 900 bukcs for it, the interior is so so, anyways i figure the j-spec engine, ecu, and what else? im not even to familiar with the turbo 2's becasue no one i know owns one or myself either, thankss for the help :bigok:

There isn't that much difference in the j-spec and us-spec tII engines. Basically they are the same. I think all you need is the engine, ecu, and wiring harness. It should be a direct bolt in job. No cutting or anything. Yes Vosko was the one who kept killing j-sepec motors. It wasn't the apex seals though. It was the coolant seals. Anyway the reason they kept going was because they are all used engines with about 40k miles on them. That's why they are cheap to buy. Basically you don't know how it was treated before you get it. This is the reason why they go within a few months. It's like buying an unproven part. You never know what you're getting.
