Turbo 2 CAS problem.
#1
I have a 87 Turbo 2. The car has been running but I know it's just not right and I haven't been able to solve it. To get the car to run at all I've had to take the Crank Angle Sensor out, advance it a tooth, and after putting it back in advance it even more. I've read an article about rx7 ignition timing that mentions this problem and recomends re-finding TDC. However when I checked this TDC was right where the mark on the pully said it should be. I can use a timing light and get the pully marks to line up after advancing the CAS but the power isn't what it should be and the engine misses constantly at idle, bad enough to stall if the timing isn't advanced even further.
If the CAS is put in with the gear aligned with it's mark, and the engine set to TDC as it should be, the car will not start.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
