I'm looking at an RX7, forgot the year though.... I know its an fc, but thats all I can really say as far as that goes.

It has an automatic transmission. The guy says he thinks they burned it up. He says it will run, and run good, but that when you put in drive or anything to try to move it, it wants to just kind of creep along. I was going to go back out and see if hwe would let me start it and everything depending on what everyone thought. So I'll know more first hand.

I wondering, is there something else that could cause this? Like could low fluid level? or something much more simple than a swap or rebuild. I'm fishing for ideas of things to look at and consider.

And, if the trans is bad, where would I get a rebuild kit, or could get it rebuild in middle tennesse?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

if the tranny is toast with an automatic, the engine will rev really high, but the car won't move much. its cause the plates slip

I have a good auto out of my parts car. I live in south Mississippi.

but as much as I want to get rid of it, you would probably rather swap to a five speed anyway.

low fluid could cause this. if the owner hasnt thought to try that you prob dont want to buy a car from him anyways. if you do get the car dont take it to aamco to have it rebuilt.

Alright.... I'll look at the tranny fluid for sure to see if he forgot something like that.

And venom..... if I got the car, I actually would rather put an auto in it. I mean, I like a manual and everything, but it sucks around town. I'd rather have something that was a little easier to drive in general. May be just me, but I can stand the loss in power. It would completely depend on the price, and if I buy the car of course.
