Tranny problems...
When i am driving my transmission has a grinding noise and i have no idea what it is. it is not constant, it seems to be like on every rotation of some part, rather hard to describe, but it stays in sequence like: ------00------00------00------00------00------
as you wind out the gear, the sequence speeds up. then when you shift it starts over again slowly. it did stop after i got in it fourth, but now it does it in all gears. it is drivable and goes into gear fine. it still shifts alright, but still the grinding noise is horrible and can be felt when driving. its gotten worse really fast, i wont even drive it now...
i know nothing about transmissions so i doubt im going to attempt a rebuild..
any recommendations? wheres the best place to get a remanufactured one? does anyone have any with solid syncros forsale?
any advise is greatly appreciated.. Thanks

had the same problem, I just went and got a junkyard tranny for about 2 or $300. you should have seen the metal chunks that came out of my old one though. someone told me that it was a countershaft bearing and another bearing.... I dunno. if you're gonna do a tranny swap, get a clutch since you're going to be there anyways. it'll save you a lot of time in the future.
