i banged through all the gear till 5th to see if it was at a certain rpm, and it was only when i put it in 5th

Thats what it sounds like. Mine does it going into 2nd, but I am not going to get another one until it is gone. Rebuild is alot more than a used one.

i forgot to post that it wasnt in just 5th as i found out this morning, its just hard to hear as my exhaust drones most sounds out.

it does it at idle, throug hall gears, only when i put a load on it, as soon as i depress the clutch or let off the gas, it goes away.

Since it is in all gears that changes things drasticly! Drop the tranny to do the throwout brearing. While your in there clutch, pressure plate and pilot bearing if needed. Just make sure to check all of the above. No skimping when it comes to that. Personally if I am dropping the tranny I am going to do it all.
