Why didn't you use the headlight sprayers and just extend the lines? theres even a seperate reservoir for them too..

Just a thought, I don't know if TIIs were equipped with them but my GXL FC3S had it..
i think that's a canadian only thing, i know for a fact that only canuck fd's had them

You're welcome, but i strongly recommend pulling the neg cable first. I actually wrote up how do make a radiator sprayer, I have a .doc of it if you want it..complete with diagrams. And Colin, I dont have the headlight sprayer...is it like the rad cap to a 69 vw bug? J/K I've never heard of them. Is that an S5 thing? I also have an 88 like Tyler, but its an SE.

well, i have always loved making cheap performance parts. And i was just thinking. Hey STIs have water sprayers...and they are Top mounted! I was driving it hard tonight and after a good spray i really did notice a better pull in boost

I was amazed when i was first flusing the fluid of how ******* huge that tank must be! i held it down for a good solid 5 minutes....im just going to stick a bunch of ice cubes in it before i head off to the raceway! im not sure about a radiator sprayer right now...i just blew all my $8.00 on all the intercooler elbows and jets

but thanks again. Im new to rx-7s and you guys seem more realistic about performance and modification. I am from the AE86 side...where most of it is JDM only!!!! exept some hard core boros out there. But yeah. thanks again!

I luckily still have the rubber shroud that seals the cowl induction and the Intercooler. From what i have checked all the water evaporates on the intercooler and dosent get anywhere else on the motor.

My S4 GXL has the headlight sprayers.

I threw the reservoir, motor, and wiring out! Never thought Americans could add it on for an intercooler sprayer... ?

Even if it is Canada specific, there should still be a hole in the chassis to accept the reservoir for it if you want to do a conversion or something. That way you still have windshield fluid, which I wouldn't really recommend driving without..

So what exactly does a Intercooler sprayer do, just sprays water on top of the inter cooler then somehow cools it down and the air that passes along with it or what? Does it really work and does it help? If it does ill try it since I live in AZ and the cooler the better.

well....look at any rally car. Even the stock STI, When the car is under a lot of work it gets way hot...even hotter on these rotary motors it seems. The heat also attacks the intercooler..touch it some time after you drive it alot. Its pretty damn hot! so when you spray water on it intercooler it evaporates some heat off with the water.when the air passes over the cooler intercooler you get cooler denser air. Im not sure what the gain in power or anything is...but it dose seem to make the car run overall better when the car is running hard.
