Unless its winter out, or you have meth injection usually past 11psi on the stock turbo you won't make any more power because the compressor is generating too much heat for that tiny IC.

yep. with a better turbo you could maybe get away with another 1-2 psi

So.... what would be a hypothetical boost limit if you were running water/alcohol injection? How much of a factor is plumbing size?

I've done 16+psi out of the stock turbo on meth injection with the stock top mount in Arizona 105deg heat. Intake temps were 140 after pulling 4th gear. If you can keep those intake temps down you will make more power at higher boost levels on the stock turbo...

id say your boost limit is due to two things.

1. intake heat; with the stock setup, anything over 10psi is just heating up the intake, and while you can raise the boost more, you start to run into detonation problems, so you're power limited, cause its not real safe.

2. flow: if heat weren't an issue you can boost higher, but the turbo really doesnt flow any more, its just too small....
